Progress report: Pete Vallance, Captain, City of Bristol Rowing Club.
The club initially proposed to build a new clubhouse on the site of the existing marina toilet block.

A model was made, photos of which can be seen below.
Bristol has one of the best stretches of safe inland water in the country and our club is located at the heart
of one of the UK's major cities. On busy weeks over three hundred people use the boathouse and clearly the land
facilities are overstretched. When the club moved to the current location at Bristol Marina 25 years ago we
had 6 boats and 12 members.
The City Council has realised the need to establish a land facility to take us forward for the next quarter century
and negotiations are now under way to build an additional boathouse complete with facilities adjacent to our current
boatshed. This is a far better solution and would enable boats to be stored under cover and a clubhouse with changing
and gym facilities to be sited on our doorstep.
