Avon County Head, 28th Feb 2009

For the first time this winter we had a perfect day for racing, no rain, no ice and no wind so we were all looking forward to a good day out

There were quite a few of us competing on both the long and short courses with some of us doublimg up to do more than one race.

We had 2 quads entered with the boys J15 doing the long course in 13:35.1 and coming 8th out of 12 while the girls J14 crew completed the short course in 6:24 coming 2nd of 5

In the doubles we entered 4 boats in the long course and one in the short course. Marc and Tom were 4th of 9 in the J15s in 13:40.8 while Louise and Katie won the J16 ladies in 13:43.1 so just a couple of seconds behind the boys.
Jan and Ali were 2nd in the J16 boys and finally on the long course John and Josh did 14:27.9 in the J15s

Abbie and Jo were doing the short course and came 3rd of 5 in the J14s race with the timer having to go to hundredths of a second to separate them from the fourth place crew in a time of 7:09.82 in their first race in the double.

While we only had one win quite a few of us were racing up an age category so we will be back next year in the same class looking for better times.
