Report from the Junior picnic 2009 by Sophie Dun

The weather held out for our large junior gathering on the downs last weekend. After lots of tripping in the 3- legged race and squealing in the egg and spoon (where a few juniors discovered only half the egg's were hard boiled) the prize giving commenced.

Ellie Murphy won a remarkable 8 pots this year and was crowned the Junior of the Year. Jo Pagon was the coaches choice and it is no surprise why due to her dedication, positive attitude and improvement all year.

Finally my unsung hero awards went to Hannah Wiberg and Alice Hurley, for being the main junior coxes and deserving much more recognition!

Well done to everyone for a fantastic year (76 pots in all). I look forward to an equally brilliant 2009/2010!
